GLOUCESTERSHIRE D.A.R.T. – PERSONAL ITEMS TO BE PROVIDED BY PARTICIPANTS

On holiday weeks D.A.R.T. provides most of the items required for day to day living including food. However participants need to  bring their own personal gear. The list below is the  minimum most  people will  require and  may be added to if required.

PERSONAL ITEMS

All personal items should be packed in bags labelled with your name. There is no room to store suitcases on the boats used by DART.

Wash bag

Towels

Sleeping bag or sheets and blankets

Pyjamas or night shirt

Pillow

Change(s) of clothing and footwear.

Note:- footwear should have rubber or soft soles.

Wet weather gear

Sun Tan Lotion

Laundry bag for dirty washing

Some people may like to bring a torch though a night light is usually left on. A torch is also useful when negotiating unlit towpaths after dark.

Please label all bags with your name

Could those packing for people who need to be reminded to change their clothes consider using 7 small bags labelled Sunday, Monday,… Saturday? Each bag should contain the basic clothing required for the day. E.g. shirt, socks, handkerchief etc. Where a change of clothes may not be necessary every day e.g shorts put them in every 2nd or 3rd bag as appropriate. This will enable crew assisting such people to take out the appropriate bag in the evening for use the following day.
