Joy stick steering in operation on Kennet and Avon

The Disabled Afloat Riverboats Trust exists, primarily, to provide boating holidays for people with physical or learning disabilities together with their carers, families and friends. We welcome:

  • Unaccompanied individuals.
  • People with a carer(s).
  • People with other family members.
  • People with friends.
  • Small groups with one or more carers.
  • Carers looking for respite.

The only rule is that there should be one disabled person on board! Click on the 'Holidays' button above to learn more.

Help with risk assessment. DART has recognised that one of the barriers to people coming on holidays is a lack of information on which to base a risk assessment. We now have available a document that helps managers and care professional make a risk assessment based on the many years of experience that we have of running our holidays. Click here to download it.

In order to run these holidays the Trust requires volunteers who typically donate a week or two of their time each year to help on board. Click on the 'Volunteering' button above to learn more.

Fund raising. DART volunteers raise funds to help defray the costs of administration. Click here to learn more. Our major fund raising event in 2008 is to be an Art Show and Auction in Tewkesbury Abbey from August 18th to August 23rd. Click here for further details.
